2018 Recap

IWVSC finished up their Fall 2018 season with the Golden Valley Soccer League in late November with overall better records for all teams (U-10, U-12, U-14) compared to the 2017 season, providing a gauge of improvement for our players! Coaches spent the Fall focusing on individual and team development and it showed.

Fall 2018 we also held a Junior Academy group (ages 5-8) that practiced two times a week from August through October. The players at that level are learning dribbling and passing technique, but are generally learning to love the beautiful game. Participation at that age group has been amazing and we are happy to offer something non-competitive for those age groups, but also plan to provide a more competitive environment next Fall for our transitioning players (U-8), so keep your eyes on our website and Facebook page!

Our club’s fundraising this past year was amazing. In total, the club raised over $2600 through car washes and spirit wear sales! In early 2019, we plan on holding a Bake Sale prior to our participation in State Cup, so do not be surprised to see us outside your grocery store with some baked goods. This money comes back to players in keeping registration costs down, free practice gear and updated equipment.

Outside of games and fundraising, our club spent Friday Nights throughout the Fall playing some pick up games of soccer, eating some good food and spending time together socially as a club. This was a great way for players and families to get to know the coaching staff and the IWVSC Board. Our players and club also participated in Kerr McGee’s Trunk or Treat and the Ridgecrest Christmas Parade to continue to get the IWVSC name out to the community.

A big THANK YOU to the Ridgecrest community for their continued support, specifically the soccer community! We are constantly impressed by your heart and passion for this sport and it’s growing footprint in the valley.

HAPPY HOLIDAYS, MERRY CHRISTMAS AND HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYONE!
