2019 Recap
IWVSC finished up their Fall 2019 season with the Golden Valley Soccer League in late November with improved seasons all around for our Under 10, Under 12 and Under 14 age groups. U-14 finished 2nd in their age group! Our club is continuing to make a name for itself over in Bakersfield!
Fall 2019 we also had a Junior Academy group (ages 4-6) and an Under 8 group that practiced two times a week from August through October. Both age groups focused on individual technique, while our Under 8 group also focused on improving team play as those players build toward the competitive older age groups.
Our club’s fundraising this past year was, again, amazing. In total, the club raised over $6100 through car washes, spaghetti dinners and spirit wear sales! This year, IWVSC will send the three competitive teams to TWO spring tournaments due to the successful fundraising! This money also comes back to players in keeping registration costs down, free practice gear and updated equipment.
Outside of games and fundraising, our club spent Friday Nights throughout the Fall watching the Cerro Coso Women’s Soccer team compete, playing pick up games of soccer, eating some good food and spending time together socially as a club. Our players and club also participated in Kerr McGee’s Trunk or Treat and the Ridgecrest Christmas Parade to continue to get the IWVSC name out to the community!
A large THANK YOU to the Ridgecrest community for their continued support, specifically the soccer community! We are constantly impressed by your heart and passion for this sport and it’s growing footprint in the valley.
HAPPY HOLIDAYS, MERRY CHRISTMAS AND HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYONE!
